Persepolis Pop-Up News: October 2014

OK, so we’re planning not one but four pop-up events between now and Christmas. Three of them will be festive specials: something to think about if you are planning a yuletide knees-up this year. Details of these will appear in a day or so. In the meantime, we have a proper Autumn feast scheduled for Saturday November 1st…

A nice, albeit random, picture of some spiced carrots from our last event.

For our third event at the Cinnamon Tree Bakery we are offering you a sumptuous Autumn spread for omnivores, although as usual we there will also be veggievore options…

Baskets of herbs and bread with marinated feta, olives and chillies
Baked figs with fiery Bandari sausages (or goats’ cheese for veggies)
Must-o-khiar – thick yoghurt with cucumber, raisins, walnuts and rose petals
Plum and pistachio fattoush
All served with warm Cinnamon Tree Flatbreads

Prawn fessenjun: prawns served in a rich pomegranate and walnut sauce (or sweet potato fessenjun for veggies)
Turmeric fried fish (or vegan kibbeh for veggies) with Persepolitan chips and mushy pea houmous

Khoresht-e-Gharch – mushroom hotpot with split peas, served with spiced brown basmati rice

Slow roasted garlicky lamb shanks (or Imam Biyaldi – baked stuffed aubergine – for vegetarians) served with saffron and herb couscous

Cinnamon Tree Cardamom and Carrot Cake, served warm with a dollop of kaymak

Coffee or Mint Tea

The cost is £35.00 a head, and you can bring your own booze.
Spaces are limited, so call us (on 020 7639 8007) or pop in to book: a £10 a head deposit will secure your place.
