Our new restaurant in East Dulwich is now open and we are looking forward (very very much) to seeing y’all soon. OMG we are excited. Persepolis has been open for 15 years, and the shop for 25 years (of which lots of exciting things later this year). The point being that Persepolis really wanted a friend to keep it company and all that.
We also felt for our brother/in-law, who has been working with us for a long time really, truly needed to get a place of his own that he could run…un-interfered-with by his fam. Amir is doing a real good job: let him know what you think, natch. He’s on the left up there – the one with his missus.
So the food. SIMORGH is a traditional Persian restaurant. With meat. Kebabs. TBH, very good kebabs. Fish and vegetarian food are part of the menu… but it is the marinaded lamb and chicken, grilled to perfection, that will (hopefully) attract lots of meat munchers (and a lot of Iranians).
We open from 12 noon on Tuesday through to 10ish on Sunday. Amongst other reasons why you should be going is the fact that we are (actually ‘will be’, very soon) licensed to order wine and beer. Oh and cocktails. Some astonishingly good cocktails. Mr. and Mrs. S. like a little cocktail occasionally ;) You are also welcome to BYO: we just ask you to take your empties away.
SIMORGH is at 481, Lordship Lane, SE22 8JR (It’s just a 45 minute walk form Persepolis to Simorgh (or back). Of course if you are travelling from elsewhere we recognise the P13 bus which basically travels everywhere in South East London.)
