So as many Peckhamsters have already discovered, we are now offering local delivery within a one mile (ish) radius of the shop. And you can order stuff to collect ‘n’ all. We have a shiny new micro-website – which you can actually access using the ‘Persepolis To Go’ button on our main website – wherein you can order all manner of helpful locked-down things. Veg boxes, chilled staples, ambient goodies, wrap meals, meze suppers, or even a three course meal for two.
The website accepts orders from 12 noon – 5pm every day, and you can choose whether you want your goods the same day or the next day. There is a choice of three evening delivery time slots.
This was initially a reaction to the whole pandemic thing – but you know, it seems pretty popular, so we might just keep it going even when relative normality is restored.
For a £3 delivery charge we will deliver any or all of this stuff to you using our team of trusty, young, bored staff and their bicycles. If you don’t see what you want on the website feel free to order over the phone for a more tailored package – or you can ring up and just order a bunch of random groceries. We’re happy to deliver whatever.
And if you are out and about and would rather collect, you can still order through the website, choose a collection time and we’ll have your food/groceries ready accordingly.
In the meantime, we remain on site from 11am – 8.30pm every day (it’s a discipline thing, you know – if we let our restaurant hours slip now, we’ll never get back into it when we reopen). You are welcome to call up, order stuff and come and collect. You can pay over the phone, by contactless card payment or we have a drop box for cash. Or just pop by for a socially distanced chat. We are hoping to open the shop properly towards the end of May.
You’ve probably noticed the photos are a whole lot better than the usual unmitigated rubbish that Mrs. Shopkeeper posts. This is what happens when you send dinner round to your favourite food photographer. Yuki took the photos for most of our books and kindly shot these photos of our veg box and the contents of the locked-down dinner date, which, yes, comes complete with a candle to add a little frisson of romance. We are a bit twee like that.
In the meantime, stay safe, keep in touch, and keep it corner-shaped.
