Well here’s the thing. We’ve been running cookery classes over at the Cinnamon Tree Bakery recently, and we like the vibe there. We also like the owners, Andy and Anita. So seeing as we’re looking to do a few more pop-up events it seemed a natural to start doing evening supper clubs there. Not only is it just along the road from the shop, but there is the advantage that we will have an in-house baker to make us patent Persepolitan flatbreads.
There is also the useful fact that it is on all the main bus routes, and you can park free right outside the shop (½ minute from the bakery) after 7pm.
If this works well, we’ll make it monthly. Spread the word. Tell your friends. Bring your friends.
Our inaugural event on Saturday August 9th has a pretty special menu…
Fresh herbs and cheese, with our own house marinated olives and roasted nuts
Must-o-moussir: thick yoghurt with spring garlic, dill and saffron
Baby meatballs (or kibbeh for the vegetarian contingency) filled with nuts and barberries, served with moutabal and Peckham salad leaves
all served with Cinnamon Tree Bakery flat breads
Smokey roasted mackerel (or aubergines for the veggies) with harissa and lime vegetables
Summer vegetable tagine with freekeh pilau
Tahchin kebab – traditional Iranian marinated chicken served on a bed of aubergine tahchin (rice cake); vegetarians will be offered saffron vegetables over rice cake instead
Quail (or mushroom) fessenjun with Persepolis spiced chips
Mile High Persepolis/Cinnamon Tree Rose and Raspberry Shortcake
Coffee or Mint tea
£35.00/head
BYO – but includes a welcome complimentary Prosecco cocktail. The event will start at 7.30 for 7.45pm.
We have already taken quite a few bookings for this, and it is an intimate* venue, SO BOOK SOON. A £10 per head deposit will secure your place, which you can pay over the phone on 020 7639 8007, or in person at the shop.
